The International Gas Union (IGU) has selected oomi for its new membership management system in a recently agreed 5-year deal with the aim to streamline procedures, offer enhanced membership services and improve communications.
The IGU, founded in 1931, is a worldwide non-profit organisation registered in Vevey, Switzerland with the Secretariat located in London, UK. Its mission is to advocate gas as an integral part of a sustainable global energy system, and to promote the political, technical and economic progress of the gas industry. The more than 150 members of IGU are associations and corporations of the gas industry representing over 90% of the global gas market, and their work covers the complete value of gas chain from exploration and production, transmission via pipelines and liquefied natural gas (LNG) as well as distribution and combustion of gas at the point of use.
The oomi CRM membership system will include the modules to manage Membership, Finance, Events and Committees. Interactions with members will be supported with full integration to the oomi Members portal, and well as Microsoft’s PowerBI reporting tool, Mailchimp email management, and the Xero finance system. This will assist with handling and chasing payments, automating workflows, setting up IGU events, and providing on online self-service access point for members whilst recording all member interactions.
Simon Polledri, IGU’s UK Commercial Manager, said: “We selected oomi as they offered an out of the box membership solution that can be delivered with minimal programming. They also have a very helpful member-orientated team who understand the challenges that face associations.”
The new system will enable the IGU to keep contact information and conversation history across all its stakeholders, which include members, advocacy contacts, government agencies, think tanks, international gas organisations, media and partners.
“It will help formalise and streamline processes whilst retaining intellectual property within the organisation,” said Polledri. ‘We’ll be able to share reports and news and provide the means for targeted messaging to really extend the reach and benefits of the IGU to both member and non-member groups.”
Joel Trotman, Director of Sales at oomi, commented: “We’re very pleased to welcome the IGU as a customer. Our focus at oomi is to ensure our software and services are a true enabler for our clients, and we look forward to working closely with the IGU to ensure they can efficiently and effectively support their members and other key stakeholders.”
