The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) is the leading independent licensee support organisation for individuals working in hospitality, with over 13,000 individual members running premises across the UK – predominantly tenanted, leased, managed and freehold pubs. The organisation provides expert helplines, online business support and guidance on key industry issues, and savings on a range of supply deals for its members, keeping pubs thriving in the heart of every community.
The BII recognised that it needed to improve their member experience, automate processes and improve member engagement and tracking, as well as combining key marketing and CRM functions. They needed a system that was easy to use that would enable them to be more self-sufficient, whilst also providing the agility and flexibility to support their strategic goals.
oomi will be implementing the oomi membership CRM along with an integrated member’s portal. In addition, oomi will also be providing a new content management system (CMS) to manage the BII.org website and build a new website for Workforce, a free membership platform, giving pub employees access to a comprehensive range of resources, insight and support, as well as perks and benefits.
“We felt oomi had the ability to provide what we were looking for, and we could deploy the resource saving made to further engage and support our members,” said Shila Singh, Head of Finance, at the BII.
“The oomi team are very professional and easy to work with and have a great understanding of our challenges and how we want to develop our systems for the future of the BII. Sharing their knowledge and experience with membership platforms and really getting to the heart of what we need has been fantastic for everyone involved in this important next phase of development for the BII.”
Joel Trotman, Director of Sales at oomi, commented: “This is an exciting project for us, and we’re delighted that the BII have turned to us to help them improve the services they offer to members. During the selection process, the BII team were very open to us challenging their thinking, so we already have a great foundation on which to build a really productive and long-term partnership. The combination of having the right technology and, more importantly, the right partner to support and implement that tech is essential for member organisations like the BII, and we are proud to be working with them.”
