The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing multiple projects and leading a team of project managers to deliver exceptional software solutions to our clients. You will ensure that projects are executed effectively, on time, and within budget while also aligning with the strategic goals of the organisation. Your leadership will be critical in managing client relationships and enhancing our project delivery processes.

You will analyse the scope of each project, identify risks and opportunities, assign responsibilities, define project objectives and critical success factors, devise delivery schedules, and communicate progress effectively to all stakeholders. Your focus will also be on continuous improvement of project management methodologies and practices within the organisation.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Act as the primary liaison between senior clients and the delivery team, ensuring alignment on project goals and expectations.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans using project management software, adjusting as necessary to address changing needs.
  • Monitor project progress, conducting regular status meetings, and implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Identify potential risks early in the project lifecycle and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Development, and other stakeholders to translate project scope and objectives into clear delivery plans.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, insights, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Proactively communicate any issues or delays, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder awareness.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in project delivery processes and practices, contributing to the PMO initiatives.

Qualifications

You will need to have:

  • strong passion for delivering high-quality client solutions and driving project success.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record in leading complex software delivery projects.
  • Advanced qualification in PRINCE2 Project Management or equivalent project management methodologies.
  • ·Extensive knowledge of software delivery processes, including Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of the Membership and Not-for-Profit sector is a significant advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in CRM and CMS systems, with a commitment to quickly bridging any knowledge gaps.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make informed decisions.
  • Proven experience in building relationships and managing cross-functional and remote teams effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to integrity, sound judgement, and ethical decision-making.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including client meetings throughout the UK.
